Threading Ljubljana

Threading Ljubljana is an iteration on the theme of Threading - a continuing project where the artist informs and engages the community about responsible consumption. The event is open to everyone, free of charge and the people participating are encouraged to bring their own clothes for repairing, mending or up-cycling. The repairs are made for free and there are also basic sewing lessons offered on-site. As the work is presented to the audience as a performance and a community art project, the artist tries to encapsulate the ephemeral, time-restricted, performance in digital renders and videos.

To the strain of performances, the artist added also videos and digital renders, where she tries to encapsulate the experience into the digital world, which is part of her practice.

Threading Ljubljana was made for the presentation of Threading for the Design Biennal of Ljubljana - BIOI26 in 2020.

The project has been featured in announcements and articles, most notably during this 2020 iteration at the Ljubljana Biennale of Design - BIOI26. The work was featured on the platform manjjevec.si with an article by Barbara Zorko, a feature in the critical journal Koridor - križišča umetnosti with an art critique by Jernej Čuček Gerbec, a printed article in the national newspaper Dnevnik by Neža Mrevlje, in the national online outlet RTV SLO with an article by Dolores Subotić, and in the national newspaper Slovenske novice with an article by Alenka Kociper (printed version of the 4.2.2020).
